Car of the Week – Porsche 964 Turbo
Tuesday, June 22nd, 2010This weeks car of the week was found due to me really wanting a 944 Turbo at the moment and the temptation to look through the cars for sale on Pistonheads was just too much for me to bear as i am fed up with my cheap runaround and don’t want to look into car hire yet.
This weeks car is not a 944 but a 964. The 964 is the model name for the Porsche 911 that was produced between 1989 and 1994. The 964 Turbo can with a very powerful (for the time) 3.6 straight 6 turbo engine hanging over the rear axle driving the rear wheels with 355bhp. The 964 Turbo is a proper supercar with a top speed of 174mph and a 0-60 of only 4.8 seconds. Considering that the car in question is now 16 years old it is more then capable of keeping up with the majority of cars on the road today.
The car that i have been dribbling over is a very late 93 Turbo model with the classic ‘whale tail’ spoiler finished in Horizon Blue. The car has had a new full-bespoke tailor-made interior in Black leather and Alcantara with sky blue detailing. The car has only done 82k and has a list of improvements including a new clutch, Full stainless steel race exhaust by Haywood & Scott, New RS Style Steering wheel, New RS Style Ducts and a recent full service.
The car is truly ‘mint’ and i am sure the pictures don’t do it justice. The for sales advert is here, check it out if you have a spare £36,000.
